Review: Buckingham Palace: Hidden Mysteries (Free, $4.99): Big Fish Games, Pick Up and Play Games

Buckingham Palace has random stuff hidden in the scenes.

I *heart* Buckingham Palace: Hidden Mysteries.  Who hasn’t imagined themselves as a royal prince or princess, surrounded by decadent luxury and ancient furnishings?  You get all the time in the world to find hidden objects in lush palace scenes.  Great for people who don’t like time pressure.

Buckingham Palace is available free and for $4.99 on the iPhone/iPod Touch.

English pipe organ music moves and paces the action along at a dignified, stiff upper lip kind of way.  You find hidden images of random items like bagpipes, dentures, swiss army knives in each of twenty Buckhingham Palace scenes or levels.

Anyone can pick up this pleasant sounding and looking puzzle and play for 5 minutes or 50 minutes.  I don’t know if it’s worth $4.99, when the free version nicely fills the need and you can find similar well-executed themed visual puzzles on iWin.

On iWin, Elizabeth Find, MD, Diagnosis Mystery, a hidden objects puzzle game features surgeons in operating rooms, comes to mind.

However, iWin games online take some time to load on your computer and you can’t access instantly and on the go the way you can with hidden objects games on the iPhone/iPod Touch.

If you like hidden objects, puzzles, and don’t like being rushed against a clock, check out Big Fish Games.  For more details, here is Big Fish Games’ iPhone blog URL:

I love this game, too, but I am stuck on the screen where you have to use your tools to find a hidden passage or something. In the scene, there is a jeweled box on the right in the wall. How do I get past this screen? It is driving me crazy!
